Accessibility
What we build to
- Text meets 4.5:1 and controls 3:1 against their background in both themes. The build fails if a color pairing drops below that.
- Every status pairs a shape and a word with its color.
- Everything works from the keyboard, with a visible focus ring. Press / or Ctrl+K to search.
- Buttons and links in controls are at least 44 pixels tall.
- Decorative motion is off when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Body text uses Atkinson Hyperlegible, designed so easily confused letters stay distinct.
How we test
Every page is checked automatically against WCAG 2.2 AA with axe in both themes before release, and reviewed by keyboard and at phone width. Automated checks catch a share of problems, not all of them, so we also welcome reports.
Known limitations
- Wide tables, such as state by profession tables, scroll sideways inside their own frame on small screens.
- Linked documents on other sites (boards, journals) are outside our control and may not be accessible.
